By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, De. 21: Bom Bahadur was released nationwide on Friday. The film primarily portrays the historical struggles and moments of the lives of Nepali communities in India, particularly those residing in the hills of Darjeeling and neighbouring regions like Duars.
Based on events from the 1980s, the film depicts the social and political backdrop of that era and vividly presents the hardships endured by the Nepali community in India.
According to director John Rai, the film was made with the purpose of preserving the history of the Nepali community in India as a digital document.
Produced by Bist Brothers Films, Bom Bahadur was created to ensure that today's and future generations do not forget their history, said producer Sanjeev Sarki.
The film features Saugat Malla in the lead role, along with performances by Prashant Rai, Anisha Rasaily, Bhaskar Pradhan, Mahendra Bagdas, Madan Bhujel, Bharat Basishtha, Ajay Pradhan, Shantila Tamang, Riya Bhujel, child actor Basishtha Karki, Suresh Panchakoti, Prabhat Pakhrin, Badal Chhetri and Dhiraj Chamling.
The story and screenplay were written by John Rai and Rupesh Tamang.
The cinematography was done by Sujoy Kumar Ghosh while editing was carried out by Gyan Gurung.
