Bhanu birth anniversary celebrated in Thailand

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 14: Bhanu birth anniversary has been marked in Thailand.

Attended by over 150 representatives from Nepali diaspora associations in Thailand, the celebration ceremony held on Sunday featured poem competition among children and recitation of poems and the Ramayan by other creative writers, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok, Thailand.

Organized by Embassy of Nepal, Bangkok, Thailand to mark the 212^th birth anniversary of pioneer poet of Nepal, Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, and the programme was inaugurated by Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, by lighting the traditional lamp and garlanding the Acharya's image.

Welcoming the guests, Moti Bahadur Shrees, deputy chief of mission, viewed that celebrating Bhanu birth anniversary is an expression of self-respect and the honour to the consciousness of Nepali civilization and culture.
