Protected Blackbucks

Kanchanpur, Dec.19: Blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra), locally known as Krishnasar, observed in Hirapur lowland Shuklaphanta National Park of Kanchanpur district.
42 blackbuck were relocated to the national park in the year 2012 and within 12 years the number of blackbucks has increased to 288.
Blackbucks have been kept under protection at Khairapur of Bardiya District and Hirapur Fanta of Shuklaphanta National Park
Krishnasar has been listed as a protected wild animal Under the National Parks and Wildlife Protection Act.
