Three parliamentary committees of Karnali yet to receive leadership

Kankrebihar (Surkhet), Dec 4: The province government has been deprived of expert suggestions with three thematic committees of the Karnali Province Assembly awaiting leadership.    
The Public Accounts Committee, Finance and Natural Committee and Social Development Committee of the province are without leadership.    

The Finance Committee has been without a chairperson since last April while the Development Committee remained without leadership since Mid-July and the Accounts Committee since last September.    

Four bills have not been discussed in the absence of chairpersons of these committees. The committees that are mandated to monitor the government's activities and hold the government to account on matters of public importance have turmned dormant.    

 Karnali Province Assembly Secretary Jibraj Budhathoki said though the senior-most members could be assigned to do the committee's work with the post of president lying vacant, it has not been implemented in Karnali.  (RSS)
