By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 17: Twenty candidates have filed their nomination for the by election of the mayoral post of Kirtipur Municipality.
Of the total candidacies, 11 have registered their names as independent ones.
According to Indira Karki, election officer in Kirtipur, Prof. Dr Shiva Sharan Maharjan from CPN (Maoist Center), Dr. Surendra Manandhar from CPN (UML) and Krishman Dangol from Nepali Congress filed their candidacy for the mayoral post of the municipality.

Similarly, Dil Kumar Maharjan of Nepal Samajwadi Party, Shrikrishna Maharjan of Nepal Worker and Peasant Party, Dhruba Maharjan of Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Keshav Shrestha of Janamat Party have also filed their candidacy.

Independent candidates that have filed candidacy are Dr. Navaraj Kumar Baniya, Rajman Maharjan, Ramkrishna Maharjan, Mim Maharjan, Prem Bahadur Maharjan, Dinesh Kumar Adhikari, Naresh Shrestha, Dharmaratna Manandhar, Ananda Maharjan, Nareshraj Pande and Kabi Kumar Maharjan.
The local level by-election is being held on December 1.
