Remittance inflow increases by 41.2 per cent in 10 months

Kathmandu, June 9: Remittance inflows have increased 41.2 per cent to rise to Rs.1916.90 billion in the ten months of current fiscal year 2025/26.

The increase is compared to an increase of 13.3 per cent in the same period of the previous financial year, according to Nepal Rastra Bank.     

During mid- April to mid-May (month of Baisakh), remittance inflows stood at Rs. 257.49 billion. In the same period of the previous year, such inflows were Rs. 165.30 billion.     

Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal based on ten months of data of 2025/26 from the central bank states that in the US Dollar terms, remittance inflows increased 33.0 percent to 13.26 billion in the review period. Such inflow had increased 10.6 percent in the same period of the previous year.     

Furthermore, net secondary income (net transfer) reached Rs.2091.86 billion in the review period, which was Rs.1480.28 billion in the same period of the previous year.     

Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers, taking first-time approval for foreign employment stands at 335,510 and taking approval for renewed entry stands at 326,364 in the review period.     

In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 405,610 and 280,314, respectively.(RSS)
