Kathmandu, June 9: Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Nepal, Sherif Mostafa Alsayed Aldiwany, paid a courtesy call on Vice-President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav at the latter's office in Lainchaur, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, various dimensions of long-term friendship, harmony and partnership between the two countries were discussed.
On the occasion, Vice-President Yadav shared that Nepal and Egypt enjoy friendly and cordial relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in July 16, 1957.
Expressing happiness towards the second meeting of Nepal-Egypt Bilateral Consultation Mechanism scheduled in Cairo today itself after a long-gap, the Vice-President expressed the belief that significant memorandums of understanding, which would be a new path for collaboration.
Congratulating Egyptian President, government and the people through Ambassador of Egypt on the occasion of the National Day of Egypt, he wished for continuous peace and prosperity of the Egyptian people.
Similarly, the Egyptian Ambassador expressed commitment to further strengthen Egypt-Nepal friendship and collaboration. "Egypt is ready to support Nepal's every sector. Specially, it is interested to cooperate in military and agriculture sectors," he opined.
The Egyptian envoy clarified that he would make special effort to increase scholarship quotas provided by Egypt to Nepali students during his term.(RSS)
