Campaign to guide public aspiration of change: General Secretary Pokhrel

Kathmandu, Nov 15: General Secretary of the CPN UML, Shankar Pokhrel, has said the party was launching an awareness campaign to free the country from chaos and guide properly the public aspiration of change.     

In a press conference organised by the publicity department at the party central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur on Friday, General Secretary Pokhrel said the campaign is expected to discourage chaos and despair surfaced in the society. He made it clear that it is necessary to make the people hopeful, and for that, disorder needs vanishing.     

"We are trying to raise the issue that people have faith and trust in the leading party and expect improvement from them. Public awareness drive contributes to this bid," he mentioned.     

He further made a reference that even in neighbouring India, the prime minister himself attends the public campaigns. "The ruling party also goes among the people and makes it's views clear,” Pokhrel shared.     

Also addressing the press meet, In-Charge of the Bagmati Province Committee, Dr Rajan Bhattarai, informed that it was necessary to clarify the vision and recognition of the party among the people, so they were reaching public with awareness gatherings.     

According to him, the rally starts from Bhadrakali and proceed to New Road—Ratnapark—Bagbazar-Putalisadak and will convert into a mass meeting by reaching at Bhrikutimandap at 11:30 am on November 22.     

UML Publicity Department chief Rajendra Gautam said that the public awareness meeting would be launched to build public opinion against political instability and anarchy. He also said that the mass meeting will foster public opinion in favour of the party in the by-elections at the local level.(RSS)
