Japanese tourist rescued from Everest region following fall injuries

Solukhumbu, Nov 1: A Japanese tourist has been rescued after he tripped and got injury during trekking at Khumbala of Pasang Lhyamu rural municipality-4.     

 The 58-year-old, Mitsugu Shishido, fell some 10 meters down from a trekking route at 3:00 pm on Thursday while returning from Khumbyula Pass, reportedly after missing his way.     

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwarika Prasad Ghimire said he was rescued with the help of locals. The tourist sustained injuries on his head, face, and legs and was taken to the Dingbuche Health Post for treatment. He is currently recovering and preparing to leave for Kathmandu.     

According to the Sagarmatha National Park Office, the Sagarmatha region is currently overwhelmed by tourists.(RSS)
