Khotang, Oct 29: Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality has launched a campaign to make Majhuwagadhi a 'flower hill'.

A religious and touristic spot, Majhuwagadhi, is a hilltop that can be reached from Diktel bazaar after 45-minute hike. Diktel bazaar is a famous trade centre in the district, which is believed to help increase footfalls to the Majhuwagadhi.

There are 918 steps set to reach atop the historic fort, Majhuwagadhi from Diktel bazaar.

The place belongs to the area of Majh Kirat (mid Kirat) which is increasingly being popular as a tourist destination of late. The local level has also installed a railing to ease the visitor's movement up to the hill.

Whether they are visitors or the locals, it is a short trekking route. The locals find it a place for calisthenics aimed at reducing body weight.

Now, in the stretch of some 65-meter distance route, both sides are decorated with natural flowers. It is named the Majhuwagadhi trekking route.

Varieties of flowers are planted on either side of route. The municipality has informed that it was developing it as a 'flower hill'. (RSS)
