Chitwan, Oct 28: A 'crop-cutting
method' has been applied to estimate the amount of paddy production.
Chief of the Agricultural
Development Office in the district, Jhalak Nath Kandel, informed that the
crop-cutting was completed in the eastern belt of Chitwan. It will be over in
two days in Bharatpur and Madi of western Chitwan.
The crop-cutting will be done in
every 10 square metres area of paddy and the production will be estimated
accordingly. Kandel said, "This year, we have estimated that the entire
district will produce more rice than the last year as the weather was favorable
during plantation."
However, there will be a slight
decrease to the expected amount of production. It will not be a big loss
either.
"On average, the production can be estimated at about four metric tons per hectare. We will know about the production after crop cutting in all places and acquiring statistics accordingly," Kandel shared. (RSS)
