Kathmandu, Oct 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has claimed that the government adroitly managed challenges created by the monsoon disasters.
The challenging situations emerged after the flooding and landslides with nonstop rainfall were coped with adeptly, he said while giving a speech on the occasion of government's 100 days in office on Wednesday. PM Oli further said although vehicular traffic was paralyzed after the damages of roads in several places, government made all-out efforts to resume the traffic on time with speedy works of road repair and arrangement of alternative routes.
"Dashain, the biggest festival of Nepali people, was round the corner, but essential infrastructures were destroyed. It was panicking in deed with the floods and landslides that swept away bridges and roads, disconnecting the federal capital with outer places. But, the adroit management of government quickly restored the road transportation with continuous hard work," he reminded.
As a result, the number of people leaving the Kathmandu Valley was around 800 thousand during Dashain festival this year, while 111 thousand vehicles operated from the Kathmandu to outside places on the same occasion.(RSS)
