By A Staff Reporter,Kathamandu,Oct.1: Story writer cum poet Radhika Kalpit has come up with an anthology of short stories titled 'Sammohan' in Nepali.
Poet Shyamal, poet and critic Bindu Sharma, and journalist and critic Hem Bhandari, entrepreneur Netra Nath Poudel and writer Kalpit herself jointly released the book recently in the capital.
Poet Shyamal opined that the stories by Kalpit are very beautiful and appealing in terms of language and presentation.
According to Bindu Sharma, Kalpit's stories have connected the present moment with the memories of the past.
"Her story has tried to expose the nature of human psychology," she added.
Radio jockey and critic Hem Bhandari found that Kalpit created stories of social issues and incidents in a beautiful way.
"Her stories not only question the social system but also urge the society for social and structural change", he added, "The value of love has been powerfully presented in the stories."
Bhandari said that the writer has revealed the innate character from a sociological point of view.
Published by Indigo Ink, the book consists of 14 short stories including Chirag, Malati Miss, Aba Lajaudaina Lajjabati, Anabaran, Sparsa, Sammohan, Abasan, Thamelko Ek Rat, Logneko Bihe, Abhisapta Aagat, Sayonara and others.
The stories focus on women's sensibility and entity. Malati Miss is virtuous love story while Chirag deals with a sensible relationship between man and woman.
Known as a poet, Kalpit had published Baraphka Koilaharu, a collection of poetry, before this.The book costs Rs. 499.
