‘Rukum Maikot’ on global trending

By Our Correspondent,Kaski, Sept. 24:  A song ‘Rukum Maikot’ from the currently released Nepali film Khushma was made public a month ago on YouTube, has now reached global trending.

 This song has managed to remain at the top of Nepal’s music section trending list for nearly two weeks.

 Hundreds of TikTok, Reels, and Shorts have already been created using this song.

The song ranked 73rd on YouTube’s Global Music Chart.

It made it to global trending as it was viewed from various countries around the world. YouTube updated this list on Sunday. Along with the song’s popularity, the film Khushma has also benefited commercially.

 At the time of writing this news, the song had been viewed more than 14.28 million times. 

Actor Dhiraj Magar and actress Upasana Singh Thakuri featured in the song, which features music by SD Yogi, lyrics by Surendra Rana, and vocals by SD Yogi and Santi Shree Pariyar.

After ‘Kasmire Pachhyauri’,  ‘Rukum Maikot’ has become the second Nepali song to trend globally on YouTube, and it is the first song from a Nepali film to do so. The song ‘Kasmire Pachhyauri’ is still in the 82nd position on the global trending list. This song has been viewed more than 26.2 million times.

Released eight months ago, the Nepali song Kasmire Pachhyauri’ is possibly the first Nepali song to trend globally on YouTube. 

Written and composed by Nishchal Dawadi, Khushma features vocals by Babu Krishna Pariyar and Deepika Bayambu. 

YouTube mentioned that these 100 trending songs were listed alphabetically as the most popular songs on the platform in the past week. 

The song was released on January 18 through the Babu Krishna Pariyar YouTube channel.

Singer Babu Krishna Pariyar expressed his gratitude to listeners and fans through Facebook after the song became a success.
