Eight books nominated for Pahichan Award

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 12: Pahichan Puraskar Kosh (Identity Award Fund) has nominated eight books for the Pahichan Award- 2080 BS. According to a statement issued by the founder of the prize Naresh Kangmang Rai, a meeting held in the capital on Tuesday had selected the list of the best eight books. The books were selected among registered ones in the Kosh published within 2080 BS.

It is informed that one book will be announced winner out of the eight. 

The list of nominated books are Silidung by Geelu Ratos, Tyasari Ta Kahilyai Sochiena by Nirvikjung Rayamajhi, Gopicha by Bishwa Kuikel, Aagoko Pidar by Mithoch, O Pengdorje by Raju Syangtan, Chiyaguff by Praveen Khaling, Sapanaharuko Bahi by Abhagi Theguwa and Mundhum Trail by Shyam Samsohang Rai. Previously, 11 books had received Pahichan Award while author and civil activist Khagendra Sangraula was awarded with Pahichan Honour. The award carries a purse of Rs. 402,002.

It is learnt that the award and the honour are targeted to boost identitarian politics through literature.
