Choppers which made emergency landing in Rukum West return

By Our Correspondent,Rukum West, Sept. 3: Two helicopters on their way from Dolpa to Surkhet forced to make emergency landings in Aathbiskot, Rukum West Sunday afternoon due to bad weather have flown away from the district.

After improvement in weather from Monday morning, the stranded choppers flew towards Surkhet at 10:00 am, according to Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Panta.

On Sunday at 3:25 pm, Simrik Air (9N-AKD) and at 4:00 pm, Nepali Army's (9N-A0660) call sign helicopters had made landings due to bad weather conditions.

The two helicopters, which were flying from Dolpa to Surkhet, had made emergency landings at the same location on a sports ground.

The Simrik Air helicopter was carrying a team of five members, including the Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yam Lal Kandel, while the Nepali Army helicopter had been flying to Surkhet to rescue a postpartum woman.

After the landing, the Chief Minister's team stayed at the same location overnight, while the postpartum woman was sent to Surkhet in an ambulance on Sunday night.
