G2C2 project inaugurates in Madhesh

By Dharbendra Jha, Dhanusha, Aug 16: Sports and Social Welfare Minister of the Madhesh Province Pramod Jaisawal requested the NGOs to work to bring changes in people's lives and livelihood.

Addressing a Global Girl Creating Change (G2C2) project inauguration programme jointly organised by Restless Development and Life Nepal with the help of the government in Janakpur, he made the remarks.

The G2C2 project has been started at the eight districts of the provinces from Friday. 

Saying that the role played by NGOs to change society is important, minister Jaisawal stressed that now NGOs should contribute to the political and Economic transformation of Madhesh Province.

He said that Madhesh province is far behind in comparison to other provinces in terms of human index so all should work to improve the human index. 

He said that the ministry is committed to providing policy-based support to make the programs run by non-governmental organizations effective and said that the Madhesh province has introduced the Girl Child Protection Act before other provinces.

The programme was conducted under the chairmanship of Life Nepal's Chair Surait Thakur where Restless Development Programme's Manager Samita Maharjan explained about the projects.

It was informed in the program that the project, which was started to raise our voices against the climate injustice that is happening to citizens due to rich and developed countries through global cooperation, aims to promote an inclusive climate policy led by teenagers and women and a fact-based campaign for its effective implementation.

Thakur informed that Restless Development in Madhesh Province is conducting the project through Regal Champions in collaboration with the social organization District Coordination Committee and Life Nepal. It has been informed that Life Nepal will conduct the project in Dhanusha, Mahotari, Sirha and Saptari and Social Organisation District Coordination Committee in Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara and Parsa districts.
