21st NSJF Pulsar Sports Award on Sept. 13

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 15: The 21st edition of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award has been scheduled for September 13 as revealed during the award's sponsorship signing ceremony in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

The signing ceremony took place in between the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF), the main organiser, and Golchha Group, the main/title sponsor. NSJF President Durga Nath Subedi and Golchha Group's Director Abhimanyu Golchha signed the papers representing their respective organisations.

Golchha Group has been supporting the award for the past 15 editions under its sister company Hansraj Hulaschand and Company Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorised distributor of Bajaj Motorcycles in Nepal. In the 21st edition, awards will be handed over in 10 categories.

"Pulsar Nepal has been involved with sports in every way possible. We are proud to have been supporting the sports award. We are giving a Bajaj Pulsar NS400z to the winner of the People's Choice Award and NS200 to winners of four other categories (Best Player Male, Female and Youth and Best Coach)," said Golchha.

Similarly, the NSJF has also increased the cash prize for winners of other categories. "The cash prize of Rs. 50,000 to the winners of Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Special, Para and Others has been increased to Rs. 100,000," said Subedi.

The NSJF plans to reveal the nominees for the People's Choice Award within a week. Likewise, the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award also has a category of 'Asian Sports Journalist Award'.

"The award programme will take place on the final day of the AIPS Asia Congress being hosted by Nepal from September 10-13. Journalists from 33 Asian countries alongside the representatives of the AIPS continental offices will be arriving for the event, which is the biggest to be hosted by the NSJF so far," said Subedi.
