Kathmandu, April 29: The Nepal Army has clarified that it was updating data for the purpose of mapping potential risks with the aim of facilitating disaster preparedness and response.
In a statement today, the NA has said that the work is being carried out to for the local Nepal Army units to facilitate the management of potential disaster events in their respective areas of responsibility.
“During the rainy season, in view of the risks from
floods, landslides, inundation and river erosion, disaster preparedness plans have been being made in coordination and collaboration with the concerned bodies to minimize human and material losses,” said a statement issued by the Army Public Relations and Information Directorate. The army has clarified that the preparations have been made taking into account the disaster events that have occurred in the past years. (RSS)
