By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 29: Oman has made a victory against Nepal by 102 runs in a rain-hit match held under ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2. Because of the sudden rainfall on Wednesday, the match was played based on the DLS system, where Oman won by a big margin.

Chasing the score of 306 runs for the win,  Nepal scored 155 runs in 36.5 overs, in the loss of seven wickets.

Dipendra Singh Airee made a half-century in Nepal. He made 60 runs in 62 balls, seven fours and one six.

Likewise, Bhim Sarki made 28 runs, Aasif Sheikh made 19 runs, Aarif Sheikh made 14 runs, captain Rohit Paudel made 10 runs, Gulson Jha made 14 runs (not out), and Sompal Kami made just two runs.

In Bowling, Nadeem Khan took three wickets, Shakeel Ahmed took two wickets, Muhammed Imran and Wasim Ali took a wicket each.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss in Kirtipur-based TU Ground, Oman scored 305 runs in the allotted 50 overs at the loss of eight wickets.

For Oman, Jatinder Singh made 130 runs, 15 fours, five sixes, in 96 balls. Jiten Ramanandi made 43 runs, Aryan Bisht made 35 runs, Hammad Mirza made 30 runs, Vinayak Shukla and Ashish Odedara made 23 runs, and Wasim Ali made 12 runs.

Nepal’s Sompal Kami delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking four wickets. He bowled nine overs, conceding 59 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee also contributed with two wickets each.

With this victory, Oman has secured third place in the standings with 31 points from 26 matches.

Nepal, having played 22 matches, is in seventh position with 14 points.

The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method is a mathematical formula used in rain-interrupted limited-overs cricket to set a fair revised target for the team batting second.
