Nepathya’s American musical tour begins from Colorado

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 6: Nepathya, a Nepali folk-rock band, has started their US tour from Colorado. 

Issuing a press release nepalaya informed that their first performance took place in Boulder, Colorado.

 The band plans to hold concerts in seven cities across the United States.

According to Arpan Sharma of nepalaya, the concert started precisely at 7 p.m. on Sunday, with the performance beginning with videos of the songs ‘Sa Karnali’ and ‘Mai Mari Jaula’.

 The initial performance was of the song ‘Koshi Ko Pani Yo Jindagani’ followed by ‘Bhedako Unjasto’ and Chhekyo Chhekyo’.

Amrit Gurung, lead singer of the band, said that the first performance in Colorado, was particularly heartfelt. 

At the end of the concert, after Gurung performed ‘Gaun Gaun Bata Utha’ the number of jumping audience members increased. 

The excitement continued as the concert progressed through ‘Resham’,  ‘Tal Ko Pani’ and the final song ‘Rato Ra Chandra Surya’.

Main vocalist Amrit was supported by Dhruv Lama on the drum set, Subin Shakya on the bass guitar, Niraj Gurung on the guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on the madal, and Dinesh Raj Regmi on the keyboard.

The local organiser, the ‘Koseli Colorado’ group, said that the performance was the largest Nepali event ever held in Colorado. 

 The second concert will be held in San Francisco on the West Coast of the United States on August 10, marking Nepathya’s return to the Warfield Theater after eight years.

Following that, the band will perform in Columbus, Ohio, Dallas, Texas, New York, Maryland and finally Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
