Members of Japanese House hold discussions on various aspects of Japan-Nepal relations

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug.1: Four members of the House of Representatives of Japan, led by Takebe Arata, Chair of the Standing Committee on Judicial Affairs, concluded a four-day visit to Nepal on Tuesday.

The delegation team that arrived in Nepal also included Makihara Hideki, Michishita Daiki, and Oguchi Yoshinori. It was the first high-level visit from Japan after KP Sharma Oli became Prime Minister of Nepal on July 14, according to statement issued by the Embassy of Japan, Kathmandu.

 During their visit, they paid courtesy calls on  President Ramchandra Paudel,  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security. Sarat Singh Bhandari, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arzu Rana and discussed various aspects of the Japan-Nepal bilateral relations, including the people-to-people exchanges, Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Programme and Technical Intern Training Program (TITP), economic cooperation and investment.

The delegation also had a meeting with the Nepal-Japan Parliamentary Friendship League, led by Dr. Narayan Khadka.

 They visited various entities in Kathmandu to observe the education and training of the young Nepali before they travel to Japan for their study or work. At the Nepal-Japan Sewa Centre, the Empowering Asia Language and Culture Centre, the Japan-town and the DN International and Kantipur Japanese Language Centre, the MPs met many hard-working young Nepali students and workers and were very impressed by the enthusiastic atmosphere.
