Bimala Ghimire elected as NA vice chair

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr 10: Bimala Ghimire from the CPN (UML) has been elected as the vice chair of the National Assembly (NA).
Ghimire received 39 votes to elect the NA vice chair whereas 16 votes were cast against her out of a total of 55 members presented in the session on Wednesday.
Ghimire's opponent NC candidate Bishnu Devi Pudasaini received 16 votes in favour whereas 39 votes were cast against her.
NA chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal declared Ghimire has been elected the NA vice chair after the election with a majority.
Ghimire's nomination was proposed by lawmaker Bhagawati Neupane and seconded by lawmaker Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achhami.
