Strong wind damages houses, shops in Bajura

By Our Correspondent,Bajura, Apr.1: Strong wind on Saturday evening caused damage to houses and shops in many local levels of Bajura district. The corrugated zinc roofs of the houses were blown away by strong winds.

Bharat Bahadur Rawat, a resident of Budhiganga Municipality, said that after the wind blew the roofs of houses and shops, the grains and clothes kept there got soaked and destroyed.

"I took a loan and started a shop because I wanted to do something in the village. Yesterday's strong wind blew away all the shutters of the shop, and I had to bear a heavy loss. I am worried about providing support for my family, as things did not go as I had planned because of this sudden natural calamity," said Rawat.

According to the District Police Office, schools and houses of Himali, Janganath, Swamikartik, Budhinanda, Gaumul, Badimalika, Triveni, Budhiganga and Khaptadchededaha were damaged by wind.

Dan Singh Bhandari, information officer of the District Police Office, Bajura, said that although there were no human casualties, the roofs of many houses and shops were blown away.

Police stated that they were collecting the details of the damages caused by the wind.
