Lalitpur Int'l Trade Expo from April 4

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Mar. 19: Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Lalitpur International Trade Expo 2024 in April with the slogan ‘Made in Nepal’.

According to the organisers, the Made in Nepal Pavilion will be the special attraction at the International Trade Expo, which will be held at the Jawalakhel Football Ground in Lalitpur from April 4 to 8.

Various goods and materials, original products and services produced in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Turkey, Malaysia, China and other countries will be displayed in the expo, said the organisers. 

Furniture, leather goods, handicraft materials, clothes, sarees, kurtas, bed sheets, shoes and sandals and gold-coated jewellery among others will be showcased in the exhibition. 

The expo being organised in Lalitpur for the first time will be attended by prominent businessmen of the participating countries. 

Lakshmi Sunrise Bank and Nepal Handicraft Federation are the supporting organisations of the fair.

Pushpa Ratna Shakya, president of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce, said that apart from increasing economic activities, the fair would be fruitful for the country to move on the path of prosperity.

Chairman Shakya said that materials manufactured in SAARC countries have been popular in the Nepali market and handicraft materials of Nepal are exported to other countries.

Suman Maharjan, Managing Director of the Introduction Trade Show, said that such a fair was expected to play an important role in bringing together the businessmen of the participating countries.

Expo coordinator Sunil Bisht informed that food stalls with the taste of different countries, gaming zones for small children, photo shoots, various cultural programmes and free health camps would be other attractions of the expo. 

Saying that there are still some stalls left for trade promotion in the fair, the organisers have appealed to the firms and companies which want to promote their brand and do business in the Kumbh Mela of Nepal, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, to register for the participation in the expo.
