Church Boys lifts Jhapa Gold Cup

By Our Correspondent,Jhapa, Mar. 12: Church Boys United, the First Division League Champions, clinched the Jhapa Gold Cup title for the first time after thrashing APF FC 3-0 on Monday. 

Abayomi Aluwaseun Fakunle scored a brace, while Rajesh Pariyar netted one in the final of the 6th edition of the event held at Domlal Rajbanshi Stadium in Birtamod. 

The victory earned Church Boys a cash prize of Rs. 1.3 million, while runners-up APF received Rs. 700 thousand. 

Abayomi scored his first goal in the 12th minute, and his second in the 72nd minute in a solo effort from the centre. Rajesh sealed the match with a goal three minutes before the final whistle, utilizing a pass from Abayomi.

Budhasubba Gold Cup

Morang District FC defeated Nepal Police Club 3-0 on Monday to enter the semi-finals of the 24th International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup Football being held in Dharan. Mahendra Karki, Sushil Rai, and Umesh Karki each scored a goal in the win for Morang. 

After a goalless first half, Mahendra broke the deadlock in the 70th minute. Umesh doubled the lead eight minutes later, and Sushil secured the victory in injury time of the second half.
