By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 29: Nadi Ko Rajmarga (Highway of a River), a collection of Laghukathas (short stories) in Nepali by Deepak Sameep, was released in the capital on Saturday.

Chancellor of Nepal Academy Bhupal Rai, critic Gyanu Adhikari, writers Bhuwan Hari Sigdel, Dr. Ishwar Mani Adhikari and Sameep himself released the book.

Appreciating Sameep's writing skill in every genre, Chancellor Rai stressed a new style of book release. “We, who sit on the dais underestimate the audience by teaching them,” he confessed. “Now, we must change the stereotyped format of book releasing to not underestimate them.” He suggested letting the audience themselves evaluate the book.”

Critic Adhikari underlined the powerful parts as well as the shortcomings of the book. “He has got the power to express much in a few words but has to follow the rule of structure either,” she commented.

Dr. Ishwar Mani evaluated tiny parts of every short stories included in the book in his boisterous speech while Sigdel and Bhawani Khatiwada highlighted the prolific parts in Sameep's writing.

Sameep professed that he loved to follow the formula while writing, but not the theories. “I always thought that I had better deconstruct the theories,” he said. “His stories are the clear replicas of the false time the nation is facing,” the publisher has written in the blurb of the book.

A popular Ghazal writer from Pokhara, Sameep had published two books-- Bhugol Bhitra Nakorieko Desh and Akshar Ma Desh, before this book. Published by Page Turner, the book consists of 66 stories of miscellaneous contents. The 84-page book costs Rs. 270.
