By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 18: President Ramchandra Paudel has expressed confidence that Vivaha Panchami will strengthen unity, harmony and fraternity in the nation.
Issuing a message on the occasion of Vivaha Panchami on Sunday, President Paudel hoped that the festival would help Nepal maintain unity in diversity and inspire all to build a civilised society through the preservation of culture and traditions. Vivaha Panchami commemorates the day Goddess Sita and Lord Ram got married in Nepal’s Janakpurdham in the Treta Yuga.
Meanwhile RSS adds: Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav has extended best wishes for the happiness, peace, prosperity and good health of all the Nepali sisters and brothers within the country and abroad on the occasion of the Vivaha Panchami festival.
In a message of best wishes on Sunday, the Vice President said the Vivaha Panchami observed on the Shukla Pakshya Panchami (the fifth day of the waxing moon in the Nepali month of Mangsir) every year carries a significant religious and cultural significance in the Sanatan faith.
He has expressed the belief that the historical, cultural, religious and indigenous rituals associated with the festival also infuse the positive values as truth, love, compassion, tolerance, friendship, cooperation, fellow feelings, fraternity etc among the entire humanity.
