Musikot gifts ploughs to 40 farmers

By Our Correspondent,Tamghas, Dec. 15: Musikot Municipality has gifted ploughs to 40 oxen-rearing farmers. The municipality gifted ploughs to the farmers of Ward No. 8, Ward Chairman Ramesh BK said. 

He informed that ploughs had been provided under the local level's programme to honour farmers who rear oxen. The programme has a budget of Rs. 100,000 and has been implemented to encourage farmers to keep oxen.

Musikot's Mayor Jiv Lal Kharel 'Jiwan' said that the programme was aimed at keeping youths in the country and showing them that they can earn good money from agriculture and animal husbandry. He also informed that the local government had a scheme to buy the products grown by local farmers to ensure they always find a market.

For this, Musikot's Information Officer Prakash Ghimire informed that the municipality had a fixed minimum price for agriculture products.
