By Chandra Pandak,Taplejung, Dec. 5: Contech Pvt. Ltd., a construction company, entrusted with the blacktopping of the Suketar-Deurali-Kaflepati road section under the Pathibhara road in Taplejung district, has started. The work started two years after it was granted the project thanks to pressure from everywhere.

Political leaders, local level representatives and others exerted pressure on the company and the regulatory body--Tamore Corridor (Subhang Khola-Dobhan-Olangchunggola) Road Project Office-- to immediately start the work.

Representatives of all three levels of government, regulatory bodies and stakeholders discussed the road blacktopping project, Saturday.

Following the conclusion of the discussion to start the work immediately, Contech Pvt. Ltd. managing director Dikchyanta Dahal committed to initiating the work immediately. Subsequently, the work began, Saturday.

Arjun Pariyar, site engineer of the construction company, said that they started back-cutting work for the blacktopping on Saturday using two excavators. He said that they were planning to continue back-cutting work throughout the winter.

The project was assigned to the company on December 21, 2021, at Rs. 417.64 million with a deadline of June 24, 2024. So far, only 7 per cent of the work has been completed, informed the Road Project Office.
