By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 10: President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the ruling party, Rabi Lamichhane has directed the parliamentarians from his party not to think of factionalism.
While addressing the conclusion of the two-day
orientation, RSP president Lamichhane instructed the members of parliament
(MPs) from the party to not go after groupism in the party as nothing of the
sort exists in the party.
Saying that there have rumours about some MPs being
close to Rabi or some other being close to Balen, leader Lamichhane stated that
the party will not tolerate any factionalism.
RSP president Lamichhane made it clear that the
unity between him and Prime Minister Balendra Shah did not take place for
personal issues and interests.
He even viewed that the country lagged seven decades
behind as those people who had to get unified 70 years ago did not do so.
President Lamichhane expressed dissatisfaction over
some media persons who tried to provoke him into division, and said that the
party was mature enough.
"We are friends for a collective journey for the country, keeping our country's history and future in mind. We are not united for a term, a period," said president Lamichhane.
On the occasion, president Lamichhane defended the
recommendation of chief justice by the constitutional council saying that the
council made the decision as per constitutional process and for a capable
justice.
"How can it be unconstitutional to select one
through majority from the names provided to the constitutional council? One has
been selected from the names provided and no process has been violated in
this," clarified the chief of the ruling party.
