blog

Bhaktapur, Dec 4: Changunarayan Municipality is going to be made a disaster-resilient municipality. In the current financial year, the municipality has formed a quick response team at the ward level and prepared skilled human resources by training them to prepare 'one community, one first responder team' to declare the municipality a disaster-resilient municipality, said Mayor Jeevan Khatri.

The Municipality handed over basic search and rescue materials to each ward on Saturday. Disaster management programmes and activities have been prioritised to minimise the loss of life and property caused by any disaster in the municipality.

The municipality has formed one community, one first responder team, and one ward, one rapid response team for disaster response.

Chief Administrative Officer of Changunarayan Municipality, Churamani Panthi informed that the Nexus Project has helped provide the necessary materials for search and rescue to the municipality. He said that the municipality has also identified the disaster-prone areas and made necessary preparations.
