By Our Correspondent,Bardibas,Dec.1: Children of late Nir Bahadur and Ratna Kumari Hamal have constructed a dharmasala, a religious shelter, and handed it over to the community in Bardibas of Mahottari district.

Sons Dr. Krishna Hamal, Chiranjivi Hamal, Om Kumar Hamal and Kishor Hamal, and daughter Durga Shahi constructed the dharmasala on the premises of Ram Janaki Temple in Ward No. 14 of Bardibas Municipality.

According to late Hamal’s sons and daughter, they constructed the dharmasala for the public in memory of their parents.

Locals informed that the temple was also constructed in support and activeness of the late Nir Bahadur Hamal five decades ago.

Nir Bahadur is also remembered as the bikash purush (development campaigner) by the locals.

The newly constructed dharmasala was jointly inaugurated by Madhes Provincial Assembly member Sharada Thapa and Dr. Krishna Hamal amid a function on Wednesday.

The dharmasala was declared to be used for the benefit of the public and will be managed and operated by the Nir-Ratna Trust.

“It was under the leadership of the late Nir Bahadur Hamal that the roadmap for the development and improvement of Bardibas was drawn decades ago,” said Thapa.

Provincial Assembly member Thapa added, “Late Hamal had laid the foundation for the construction of roads and infrastructure for health, education, security, market and religious sites in Bardibas.

We have been able to achieve this development thanks to the effort of late Hamal.”

Thapa also stressed that the contributions of late Hamal and his wife would be remembered further through the dharmasala constructed by their children.
