Nepali mountaineer summits Kilimanjaro

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 2: Nepali mountaineer Prakash Raj Pandey has successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.

As per a statement provided to The Rising Nepal, Pandey reached the summit at 6.40 am on Tuesday. There, he unfurled the national flag of Nepal as well as the flags of other organisations including the Nepal Scouts and Rotary International. 

Pandey climbed the 5,895-meter peak as part of his campaign to climb the tallest mountains on all seven continents. Kilimanjaro was his third peak in this campaign. 

He has already climbed Mount Everest, the tallest mountain of the world, and Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe.

Additionally, he has also successfully ascended Manaslu, Amadablam, Island Peak and Baden Powell Scout Peak of Nepal. Pandey hopes to use his campaign to promote tourism in Nepal.
