Tourist development is Gandaki Province’s priority

By Our Correspondent,Nawalparasi, Nov. 2: Chief Minister of Gandaki province, Surendra Raj Pandey, has said that Gandaki will be developed as a tourism hub and for that the provincial government has started the necessary work.

Inaugurating Devchuli Tourism Week in Kirtipur of Devchuli Municipality of Nawalparasi (East) on Wednesday, he said that the provincial government has planned to develop the tourism sector by mobilising every possible resource in the activities of the tourism sector along with the places that have the potential for tourism in Gandaki province. 

He maintained that development of the country is impossible without the sustainable development of tourism, and expressed the commitment of the Gandaki government for the determination to explore the potential of tourism in Nawalparasi (East) and provide all the necessary support.

The government made it clear that the development of tourism is a top priority as Gandaki is a province with more potential for tourism, said CM Pandey. 

The organiser of the event, Devchuli Jaycees, said that the Devchuli Tourism Week will continue until Tuesday, November 7. 

Similarly, Chief Minister Pandey inaugurated the orientation programme organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management of Gandaki, and Agricultural Knowledge Centre Nawalpur in Kawasoti for farmers and stakeholders related to processing potatoes at the community level. 

On the occasion, he said that the Gandaki government has adopted the policy of using fallow land.

Chief Minister Pandey made it clear that since the development of the country will gain momentum only through the development of the agriculture sector, the provincial government should be able to stop the migration abroad for its proper development and bring a plan to attract the people towards the modern agricultural system.

Minister for Agriculture and Land Management, Mahendra Dhwoj GC, said that the development of the country cannot be achieved without the development of the agricultural sector.

"The Gandaki government is committed to the development of the agricultural sector to the best of its ability and link the agricultural sector to the development of new technologies," he said. 

Similarly, Chief Minister Pandey inaugurated the newly constructed building of Hupsekot Rural Municipality on Wednesday and said that federalism had made the local levels much stronger and they should be strengthened by giving more powers.
