Indian national injured in police fire

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 1: One Indian national has sustained an injury from the bullet of police in Gothatar.

A police team of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office reached Gothatar-3, Kathmandu, based on the information that the narcotic drugs were being traded and were attacked by drug dealers at around 1:30 p.m.

Police fired back in retaliation for the attack injuring the 48-year-old Indian national, Mohammad Karim of West Bengal, Naxalbari, India. He got injured in the leg.

Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Dinesh Raj Mainali, said that the injured Karim is receiving treatment at Kantipur Hospital.

According to Mainali, a 37-year-old Harka Limbu of Kachankawal-8 Jhapa district, who was involved in the incident, has also been detained with scales for measuring drugs.

The Police said that three rounds of bullets, a pistol, and 200 grams of brown sugar-like substance were recovered from the scene.
