By TRN Online, Kathmadnu, April 2: The CPN-UML on Thursday raised an objection in the House of Representatives (HoR) over the arrest of former Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli.

The party protested by standing in the House as the meeting began.

The session formally started after chairing member Arjun Narsingha KC granted permission to UML lawmaker Guru Baral to present the party’s position.

During his remarks, Baral expressed strong objection to the arrest process involving former Prime Minister Oli and Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

At the very beginning of the meeting, lawmaker Baral accused the government of carrying out an illegal detention and crackdown against former Prime Minister Oli and former Home Minister Lekhak, and demanded their immediate release.

He also called for a fresh investigation into Gen Z protest incident.
