Canadian national rescued from Sankhuwasabha

Kimathanka (Sankhuwasabha), Oct 20: A foreign tourist has been rescued by a helicopter from Thudam of Bhotkhola rural municipality in Sankhuwasabha district.     

The District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha said Canadian national Peter Gray, who had fallen ill, was rescued by the Kailash Air helicopter on Friday with the help of locals and police. He was subsequently transported to Kathmandu for treatment, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dhanshyam Shrestha.     

Daniel arrived Bhotokhola just a day before in course of his expedition to the Mount Makalu, the world's fifth highest peak. At the time of the report, it is yet to be confirmed whether he was accompanied by other member(s) for the expedition, police said. (RSS)
