By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 21: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has set a target of 129 runs for Nepal in the second match of the ongoing 'Under Lights T20I Series' at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Batting first, UAE posted 128 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Nepal now faces a must-win situation to level the two-match series after suffering a defeat in the first game.

In Monday’s rain-affected match, Nepal lost to the UAE by six wickets.

Duckworth–Lewis–Stern (DLS), UAE successfully chased a revised target of 78 runs in 8.5 overs, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

DLS method is a mathematical formula used in limited-overs cricket to calculate fair target scores for the team batting second when matches are interrupted by weather or other disruptions.

In today’s match, Sandeep Lamichhane delivered an outstanding bowling performance for Nepal, claiming three wickets for just six runs in his four overs.

Hemant Dhami took two wickets, while Nandan Yadav and Sahab Alam took one wicket each.

For UAE, Akashdeep Nath was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a half-century. He made 53 runs off 42 balls to guide his team to a competitive total.

Nepal is currently batting, aiming to secure a win.

UAE, on the other hand, is looking to clinch the series with another victory.
