Body of newborn found in Jhapa
By Lila Raj Khadka, Birtamod, April 16: A dead body of a newborn has been found under the Bhote bridge in the Shivasatakshi Municipality-3 of Jhapa district at 11:50 PM on Wednesday.
A team of police was mobilized after receiving information at the Police Station, Dhamarpur.
The body has been sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences after fulfilling the legal process.
A 13-year-old female has been arrested following the incident.
It is believed that she threw the baby after giving birth.
Police have said that an investigation has been launched into whether the newborn was born dead or whether the minor murdered and dumped it.
