Communist party established to pursue development, prosperity: Unified Socialist leader Khanal

Kathmandu, Aug 12 : CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhala Nath Khanal said that the communist party was established to pursue development and prosperity while ending poverty and backwardness of the country.

He stressed the need for maintaining political stability for social transformation while running the governance system as per the aspiration of people. The leader was inaugurating the central gathering of the Socialist Sports Federation associated with the party here on Saturday.     

Stating that the left forces should be sensitive as the communist principle is guided by scientific socialism, the former Prime Minister viewed that it was feasible to implement the socialism system as the communist principle was becoming popular in many countries in the world.     

Maintaining that a lack of social justice and good governance has resulted in disorders in the country, he stressed the need for a shared effort of all political parties to end corruption, a main hindrance to progress.     

There is no alternative to socialism for bringing along the citizens who are left out on the mainstream of the state based on the inclusion and proportional representations, he said.

And socialist economy is needed to develop a self-reliant economic along with social justice and equality, he added. The socialist front was formed to safeguard the constitution and republic, he said in another context.

Similarly, the party vice chairperson Rajendra Pandey underscored the need for increasing investments in sports as the country’s image was being raised with international records in sports. Also, the party secretary Jibanram Shrestha called for the forces in favour of changes to come together. (RSS)
