Landslide renders two families homeless in Rukum West

By Our Correspondent,Rukum West, Aug,1:Two families have been rendered homeless by a landslide at Lasunbari of Musikot Municipality-8 in Rukum West.

According to ward member Him Kumar Pandey, the two households were displaced following a landslide triggered by continuous rains in the district on Monday. The families of Bhupendra Budha and Amar Pun have been displaced after the incident. There are six family members in the home of Bhupendra and five in Amar’s.

The ward member said that the two families were forced to take shelter in the cow sheds. Pandey said that the terrace and toilets of Pun and Budha have been buried by the landslides. Their maize farms have also been damaged.

The electricity facility has also been disturbed after the electricity pole fell down. The ward member has drawn the attention of concerned stakeholders including the local government to manage relief goods and proper shelter to the landslide victims.
