Cattle killed in bear attack in Jumla

Jumla, June 2: Eight sheep were killed in a bear attack at Thambada village of Guthichaur Rural Municipality-4 in Jumla district.

Information officer at District Police Office, Shalikram Khanal, informed that the wild animal entered the cattle enclosure and killed eight sheep at night. 

The local farmer suffering the loss said five sheep were still missing since the attack on Monday.

"A sheep costs Rs 18,000 minimum, so it is huge loss for me," said farmer Kishan Adhikari. He has now 21 sheep.

Livestock farming is a major source of income in the hilly and upper hilly region of Nepal.  (RSS)
