By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 14: Basundhara Man Academy become a customer of the publications of the Gorkhapatra Corporation for up to 100 years.
On the 123 years long history of Gorkhapatra, Academy became the first to be a subscriber for up to 100 years on Friday.
Adviser of the Academy Badri Prasad Dhakal become a century-long subscriber by paying an amount of Rs. 219,000 after the discount of 40 per cent.
Corporation's publications will be available to the Basundhara Man Academy from Saturday (Tomorrow).
Adviser Dhakal said that Academy decided to become a member for up to a century due to the credibility of the Gorkhapatra Corporation's publications.
He also said that he felt proud to become a subscriber to 100 years of Nepal's oldest newspaper.
Gorkhapatra Corporation's Executive Chairman Bishnu Prasad Subedi said that the decision of the Academy encouraged GC to become more responsible and credible.
Executive chairman Subedi said, "It added the goodwill of Gorkhapatra to survive for more than 100 years."
GC's General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi expressed his belief that the decision of the Academy sent a message of the contribution of Gorkhapatra Corporation to the country and society.
On the occasion, Executive Chairman Subedi handed over the first edition of Gorkhapatra to the Basundhara Man Academy's Adviser Dhakal.
