By Kabiraj Ghimire,Hile, July 7: Six tea entrepreneurs have received Nepali trademark on tea this year.

The National Tea and Coffee Development Board awarded the 'Nepal Tea Quality from the Himalayas' trademark to six tea entrepreneurs from Ilam, Panchthar and Bhojpur in a programme held at Hile in Dhankuta on Thursday.

The board has been awarding the trademark to Nepali entrepreneurs who have met the standards with the aim of producing tea of the same quality.

This is the only trademark on tea that is exported to the international market from Nepal's own trademark.

The director of the board, Dr. Bishnu Bhattarai said that the trademark was provided to ensure the quality of tea for sale in the national and international markets.

According to him, there will be no problem in selling tea to entrepreneurs who have got the trademark.

He also said that if there is any problem in selling tea, they will facilitate if they coordinate with the board.

He suggested all tea entrepreneurs complete the process and get a trademark.

The board has started providing trademarks of Nepal to entrepreneurs from 2077 B.S.  So far, 29 farmers from different districts of the east have received the trademark.

Out of that the most 18 entrepreneurs from Ilam have got the trademark. Now Nepali entrepreneurs have been exporting Nepali tea to different countries using this trademark.
