BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Hile, July 2: A symbolic plane has been constructed to attract tourists to the Sansari wetlands located in Pakhribas of Dhankuta. The symbolic plane with a length of 80 feet and a height of 10 feet is built in such a way that people can tour and sit inside it. The plane can accommodate about 60 people.
Prem Bhandari, secretary of Wetland Management, informed that the structure was built in such a way that it could host various programmes like seminars and conferences.
The structure is built using iron, tin plates and glass with the help of the Koshi provincial government at a cost of around Rs. 1.5 million.
Meanwhile, Pakhribas Municipality had funded Rs. 300,000 for the construction of seats and toilets inside the plane. Mayor Gyan Bahadur Gurung informed that the municipality had provided the money after the money given by the provincial government was 2not enough to complete the structure.
He said, “Tourists will get to feel something new while travelling to the area. With the help of the provincial government, we built the outer structure and now the municipality had provided aid for the construction of the inner structure.”
In the wetland area, a pond has already been constructed at a cost of around Rs. 16.9 million, and various structures including statues of Lord Shiva, Lord Buddha, snakes and others had been constructed. Around 100 tourists visit the area every day.
