Indreni team supports flood, landslide victims in Taplejung

By Our Correspondent,Taplejung, July 1: The Indreni team, a folk duet television programme,   led by artist Krishna Kandel, has provided essential relief assistance to the flood victims of Taplejung.

On Thursday, the team arrived in the landslide-affected region of Sidingba Rural Municipality and extended financial support to the families affected by the disaster.

A total of 13 families in Sidingba Rural Municipality-6 Mehele, and Ward- 3 Angkhop received aid amount of Rs.  400,000.

 Lead artist Krishna Kandel personally met with the families of the landslide victims and handed over the support funds.

The relief efforts were directed towards the families who lost their loved ones in the landslide and those whose homes were washed away during the disaster. 

The Indreni team also took the time to interview local residents affected by the landslide to understand their needs better.

On June 17 and 19, a tragic flash flood, triggered by heavy rains, claimed the lives of three individuals, including a father and son from the same family in Mehele of in Sidingba Rural Municipality. 

Additionally, three members of another family in the same area have gone missing in a landslide.

 Furthermore, two people, one from Mehele and another from Maiwakhola Rural Municipality-4 Sanghu, sustained injuries in the landslide.
