Biplab-led CPN’s cadres picket alleged loan shark’s house

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Bhairahawa, June 25: Cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplab' have picketed the house of alleged loan shark Ramanand Baniya in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi district, on Saturday afternoon. 

On the request of his ‘victims’, Birendra BK, district leader of the party, and the cadres surrounded the house of Baniya located at Milanchowk of Siddarthanagar Muncipality-5. 

The party also organised mass meeting on the day. 

The party's central member and Rupandehi district in charge Sharad Singh, district secretary Birendra Singh, district secretariat member Shibir Singh and others were present at the meeting. 

Earlier, 62 people had filed complaint in front of District Administrative Office against the loan shark. 

Later, the debtors had given a written complaint to the party after the District Administrative Office had neglected the complaint.

The party claimed that Baniya had cheated more than 150 farmers of Rupandehi. 

He had provided loan of at least Rs. 75,000 to 100,000 to each farmers and had taken millions of money from them in interest. 

Spokesperson for District Police Office DSP Shyamu Aryal said that after receiving a complaint, they started investigation into the matter. 

But, if anyone had encircled the accused person's house, it would be against the law, he added.
