By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, June 19:‘Kandetar’ (Barbed Wire), directed and produced by Nawal Khadka, will be released on March 8 on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri festival next year.
On Sunday, marking the occasion of his birthday, Khadka announced the release date of his film.
The film gives a message to demarcate the border between Nepal and India by fixing barbed wire.
Khadka has called upon the government to support the film by providing financial subsidies, tax exemption, and creating a favourable environment for its release within the country. He also urged for diplomatic efforts to facilitate its screening abroad.
Khadka himself, Gaurav Pahari, Surabina Karki, Rebika Gurung, Prashant Yadav, Muralidhar, Prem Subba, Romiyan Limbu and Sanjay Khatiwada have done the movie. Choreographed by Kabiraj Gahatraj, the film is edited by Tara Thapa “Kimbhe” while Saurav Lama has directed the cinematography.
The film also faced objections from the Censor Board because of certain scenes and dialogues. Only after making the necessary modifications, the film received clearance from the censor.
