By Our Correspondent,Dadeldhura, Apr. 21: The construction work of Wes Seti 400 kV power transmission project has started.
The work has begun for the construction of a transmission line from Bajhang to Kanchanpur via Doti and Dadeldhura.
National Transmission Grid Company Limited has mobilised two companies to carry out a preliminary environment study for the proposed project.
Forest officer Ram Bichari Thakur said that project work will be carried out in two sections.
According to him, it has proposed to expand the transmission line to Kanchapnur via Navadurga Rural Municipality, Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality, Alital Rural Municipality and Parashuram Municipality.
He said that a team, including experts from two companies, had reached Dadeldhura to study the forest area.
He informed that a letter has been received that the work of the project has been started under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
NEA Engineering Company Limited and ITECO-RIMC Shrestha JV Company have started the study.
Krishna Prasad Ghimire, forest expert of NEA Engineering Company Limited, said that the studying of the work of the transmission project for the electricity supply of the hydroelectric project being built in Bajhang district along with West Seti has started.
According to him, NIA Engineering will construct a transmission project of about 60 km from Jayaprithivi Municipality-1 in Bajhang to Shikhar Municipality-10 in Doti.
This company will build 148 towers.
Another company ITECO-RIMC Shrestha JV has started studying the transmission project of about 65 km distance from Shikhar Municipality-10, Banelake to Bedkot Municipality-2, Chela in Kanchanpur.
This company will build 157 towers.
